ePIG example - statistical alarming

Based on the same statistical methods employed in the cutting energy process indicator gauge, the idle vibration signature of a single spindle machine or simple fan/pump/motor can be trended to catch common condition faults. Saves from failures on critical spindles can produce hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost benefit by avoiding lost production time. Currently, installed systems have proven reliable in monitoring and alerting unacceptable conditions for spindle bearings, spindle/tool balance, loose/worn gibs or slide, impacts during idle, chiller problems, thermal and/or spindle preload problems, etc.

Extremely simple and low cost, single channel vibration measurements supply all the needed information for accurate and reliable machine condition health monitoring on mid-value assets like transfer line spindle operations.
